Apply to be on the N4MN Board
|
We are seeking applicants to our Board of Directors between NOW - May 4th.
If you are passionate about the issues we stand for, and willing to contribute to our work, we hope you’ll apply. As a board member, you serve a 2 year term, which can be renewed, if desired.
As a small but mighty voice in the broader conversation about homes in our region, we represent a diverse set of members and neighbors. We are actively recruiting a diverse board in race, gender, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, sexual identities, neighborhood, housing tenure, as well as in viewpoints, life experiences and skills.
Board Expectations:
- Be committed to our mission & policy priorities (see our full Mission, Vision & Values)
- Attend monthly board meetings
- Contribute as a volunteer leader beyond board meetings through volunteer tasks or event attendance. Expect a 7 hour commitment per month, including board meetings.
- Contribute to the organization’s financial standing – this could be through personal donation, assisting with fundraising, and/or amplifying fundraising efforts to those you know.

April's Member Social - Tomorrow
|
We will be joining the Street Smarts Book Club, hosted by Our Streets on Thursday at 5:30PM at Urban Growler Brewing.
You're invited even if you can't finish the book! Let's talk about how we can shape the futures we want to live together.
The book this month is Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds by Adrienne Maree Brown.
About the book: "Inspired by Octavia Butler's explorations of our human relationship to change, Emergent Strategy is radical self-help, society-help, and planet-help designed to shape the futures we want to live. Change is constant. The world is in a continual state of flux. It is a stream of ever-mutating, emergent patterns. Rather than steel ourselves against such change, this book invites us to feel, map, assess, and learn from the swirling patterns around us in order to better understand and influence them as they happen. This is a resolutely materialist “spirituality” based equally on science and science fiction, a visionary incantation to transform that which ultimately transforms us."

📖 More Neighbors in the News 📖
|
The Minneapolis Task Force recently started collaborating in March to outline their goals and objectives for ensuring we know where our city council and mayoral candidates stand on housing issues. So far they have been hard at work drumming up excitement for the upcoming city-wide elections in November. They most recently sent out communication encouraging Minneapolis residents to Commit to Caucus, you may have received it!
Several N4MN supporters responded to this call to action and spent the evening conversing with their neighbors. The team is also actively reaching out to potential partners to help with more upcoming election related initiatives. Stay tuned to learn more, and reply to this email if you want to get involved with this group of 7 volunteers!

2025 State Policy Task Force UPDATE
|
- The State Policy Task Force has been working hard on a new path forward to More Homes. Stay tuned to our social media for updates and action alerts coming next week.
- We have a lot of suburban volunteer activation; almost 20 people have agreed to speak with reps in various capacities in different suburban cities! This is a particularly big deal, since resistance in Twin Cities suburbs is one of our biggest obstacles. Do you have friends or family in the suburbs that you talk to about zoning? Reach out! We’d love to help them get engaged today!
- We had a very successful phone banking round with ISAIAH! We made 718 calls, and got 24 people leaving voicemails with key legislators!
- We’ve had several Letters to the Editors from volunteers published, with a slew more currently submitted, so keep your eyes peeled for more pro-housing opinions in the local papers!
- We’re preparing to gather at the Capitol for a potential hearing next week; get ready to join us to pack the house! Dates TBD
