Pack the Capitol Rotunda: Tell Lawmakers “Yes to Homes!”
Hi Neighbor,
Come join Neighbors for More Neighbors on Monday, February 23rd, at 10 am to kick off the 2026 legislative session at the Capitol. This will be the 4th annual Start with Home Rally, and we’re part of the host committee. We will gather legislators and housing advocates together to prioritize legislation that:
- Allows more starter homes in Minnesota
- Legalizes duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, and townhomes
- Allows more homes near frequent destinations like workplaces, stores, and commercial districts
- Removes residential parking mandates
- Streamlines housing approvals to help local governments get new homes built
- Reverses the effects of racial and economic exclusionary zoning
- Supports location efficiency, a crucial strategy to reduce impact and improve health and economic outcomes
- Ensures home construction is not slowed down or subtly banned through overly restrictive city rules and regulations
It is important for lawmakers to understand the significance of this issue for Minnesotans and that they must take action. We communicate this to them by showing up and making them hear us.
Help us pack the Capitol Rotunda on Monday, February 23rd at 10am and make sure this session "Starts With Home!" Please wear purple or your purple Neighbors for More Neighbors t-shirt (we will have extra!).
