Our Work

Housing policy affects everything.

Here’s how we fix it.

Minnesota’s home shortage didn’t happen by accident— It’s the result of decades of policy choices.

Learn how changes to these policies can make homes more affordable, neighborhoods more walkable, and our future climate more sustainable.

Our Work

Active Focus Areas

  • A watercolor illustration of Minnesota, homes, and construction equipment with a line of people. Within the border of Minnesota text states MN Needs 100,000 New Homes

    State Policy

We push for statewide solutions that help communities of all sizes grow in ways that are more affordable, sustainable, and inclusive.

  • A watercolor illustration of a neighborhood with mixed housing types.

    Minneapolis Policy

We got our start supporting the Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan. Since then, we’ve kept at it, showing up for proposals and pushing for policies that make it easier to build all kinds of homes.

  • A watercolor illustration of a row of townhomes with two in faded colors and one in full color. Text pointing to the lot says Lot Size and the third townhome is cutout so you can see into it. Text pointing to each floor says Floor Area.
