Housing Justice League Eviction Response Training
|
Neighbors for More Neighbors is joining with Housing Justice League for a webinar on Eviction Response on Tuesday, June 23rd at 1 pm. As our region continues to reel from the devastating impacts of Operation Metro Surge, a displacement crisis is unfolding. Given the failure of our elected officials to effectively intervene, eviction numbers have risen to historic levels. We are left with the question: How can we show up for our neighbors in this moment?
As advocates and grassroots activists build on the emergent organizing networks developed during the occupation, many are looking to deepen their skill sets in combating eviction. This presentation will give folks the foundational knowledge of the eviction process to better guide their work on the ground. Register for the webinar here!

Summer Shutdown
Our staff is taking some well-earned time off, and we think you should too!
Neighbors for More Neighbors is closing for the summer from June 29th through June 3rd for rest, relaxation, and sunshine (hopefully). During this time, our office will be closed, and we encourage all our volunteers to take a break from N4MN-related work.

YIMBYtown 2026 - Raleigh, NC - November 16 to 19
What's YIMBYtown, you may be asking? Well, it's the biggest national pro-housing conference in the country, bringing together 1,000+ pro-homes advocates, experts, and leaders!
We plan to send some N4MN folks again this year! Are you interested in attending? Then let us know! We can arrange financial assistance to help with travel costs, so don't let that be a barrier.
YIMBYtown is also looking for presenters, and we would love to rep N4MN on the stage or in panels. Got an idea? Or even just interest? Let us know!
Email alexa@moreneighbors.org if you are interested in attending YIMBYtown with us or presenting.

During the 2026 session, we continued our push to make it easier to build more types of homes in more places.
While we fell short in passing comprehensive reforms, we achieved some smaller wins, including $40 million in rental assistance and reforms targeting Homeowner Associations, and built momentum for next year.
Read a summary of the session in our latest blog post.

It seems like just yesterday when Neighbors for More Neighbors held our first-ever event on how we could impact the Minneapolis 2040 comprehensive plan.
Last week, city officials presented their planned approach to the 2050 Plan.
You better believe that we will be back advocating for a strong 2050 plan that welcomes more neighbors. Stay tuned for more information on how to get involved!

Duluth is considering modifications to its zoning code that will make planning faster and easier for both the Duluth City Council and developers.
The proposed changes should also make it easier to build multi-family housing throughout the city!
Read more about the proposed changes, which will be considered by the city council later this month.

Imagine that 10 acres of land in the middle of your city were unbound from the laws that limit housing construction. No zoning. No neighborly lawsuits. No reviews by the Department of You Can’t Build That.
In the middle of Vancouver, the Squamish, the First Nation whose ancestors lived there, are building the densest residential neighborhood in the country on 10 acres the Canadian government returned to them in the early 2000's. It’s called Senakw, and it's a breathtaking example of how we can reimagine where we live.
Editor's note: I know we recommend a lot of reading, but this is one of the most interesting articles I've read in a while. I'd highly recommend it.
